ALLEY KITCHENS
In an alley kitchen you need to be careful not to have just a long all way that makes the kitchen the walkway to get to another space. This kitchen has flooring that helps create an ambiance. Using your space wisely is the goal, having a kitchen you love to be in. The size tile you chose and the grout color will make a difference in how large or small an alley kitchen will feel. The direction you lay the tile or flooring in will also affect the over all feel of the space. Carrying the flooring into the eating area, creates the feel that the space is connected and adds to the flow. In their kitchen the multi tones and textures of the flooring and countertops bring an upscale feel. The greatest feature in this space is the mirror behind the window as a backsplash. Visually you feel the space is much bigger because the mirror gives the illusion that there is more beyond the window. The pantry works well in this area, giving the occupants added space for storage of canned goods and it is tucked away and attractive.
